Williamson County Crime Stoppers Searching for Leander High School Arsonists

The Cedar Park Police Department is requesting any information from the public regarding six arsons that have taken place at three different Leander ISD high schools in the last year. All of the fires have been set in the boy’s restrooms at Vista Ridge High School, Leander High School, and Cedar Park High School in 2014.

Leander High School
• 4/10/2014 –Boys’ restroom in the 300 wing
• 11/12/2014 – Boys’ restroom in the 2200 wing

Cedar Park High School
• 12/2/2014 in Boys’ restroom #4
• 12/4/2014 in Boy’s restroom #1 and #3, Building A
• 12/9/2014 in Boys’ restroom #5

Vista Ridge High School
• 05/12/2014 – Boys’ restroom in the 1600 hallway

There are approximately 2,500 fire in the Austin metro area annually. Between 300 and 400 are marked as undetermined or suspicious and can cost tens of thousands of dollars to victims and taxpayers in addition to serious injury or death.
